The Regional and International Role

The Society collaborates with worldwide neurology organizations. It is an active member of the World Federation of Neurology and the American Academy of Neurology. In addition, the Society is an associate member of the European Academy of Neurology (ESNPN members have the same benefits as European members, apart from the right to vote). These organizations get annual subscriptions. This cooperation resulted in choosing the Neurology Department – Cairo University as an accredited center for training neurologists from “English-speaking” African countries.
Due to close cooperation with PAUNS, Egypt took over its presidency by esteemed Egyptian professors for numerous years; they are Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Banhawi (Ain Shams University), who is the first president of the Arab Doctors Union, Prof. Dr. Emad Fadly (Ain Shams University), Prof. Dr. Anwar Al-Atribi (Ain Shams University) ), Prof. Dr. Saher Hashem (Cairo University), Prof. Dr. Mohamed Eltamawy (Cairo University), and Prof. Dr. Maged Abdel-Naseer (Cairo University).
